Our Mares

CKM CLASSY BAR DRIFTER — “ALIBI"
15 HH • Buckskin Roan • Foundation Bred • AQHA & FQHA Registered
Alibi is exactly what we love in an old-school Quarter Horse. She is substantial, thick, strong-boned and built to work. She has good feet, a shorter back, plenty of body and, perhaps most importantly, a fantastic mind and the stamina to work all day.
PEDIGREE
SIRE — RED EDDIE DRIFT
By Classy Bar Hancock
Out of Driftwood Eddie Bell
Red Eddie Drift brings that old-school foundation Quarter Horse influence that we value so highly.
Through Classy Bar Hancock, Alibi carries the kind of pedigree associated with the classic Quarter Horse traits we want to preserve — substance, bone, athletic ability and usefulness.
The Driftwood influence on the bottom of Red Eddie Drift adds another layer of ranch, performance and working-horse heritage to Alibi’s pedigree.
DAM — SUNNYBROOK MAY
By Dr Doc Kings Gold
Out of Sunnybrook Trump
Alibi’s maternal side continues that foundation influence through Dr Doc Kings Gold and Sunnybrook Trump.
This gives Alibi a pedigree built around the type of horse we love at Prairie Dream Ranch:
Strong.
Athletic.
Durable.
Useful.
And built to last.
It’s not just a pedigree full of names we can brag about — it’s a pedigree that complements exactly what we see standing in front of us.
WHAT MAKES ALIBI SPECIAL?
THIS IS A TRUE QUARTER HORSE.
Alibi stands 15 HH and is a beautiful buckskin roan with that unmistakable foundation-type build.
She has:
Great bone
Good feet
Shorter back
Thick, substantial body
Excellent overall build
Fantastic mind
Plenty of stamina
Foundation pedigree
Proven production record
She’s the kind of mare that looks like she could leave the pasture, go to work all day and come home ready to do it again tomorrow.
And THAT is the kind of horse we want in our breeding program.
Alibi is an AMAZING mother.
She’s attentive to her babies and has proven herself as a broodmare time and time again.
And that matters.
Because a great broodmare isn’t just about pedigree and conformation. She needs to raise a good baby. Alibi does exactly that.
BROKE TO RIDE… BUT SHE’S FOUND HER CALLING
Alibi is broke to ride, but these days she seems perfectly content to enjoy her career in the broodmare pen.
And honestly?
She’s pretty darn good at her new job.
She’s proven herself to us as a producer, a mother and an important part of our breeding program.
Alibi represents so much of what we’re trying to preserve at Prairie Dream Ranch.
We aren’t trying to breed horses that are simply pretty standing in a pasture.
We want horses that are beautiful AND useful.
Horses with enough bone to hold up.
Enough body to carry someone comfortably.
Enough brains to make them enjoyable.
Enough athleticism to have a job.
And enough heart to give you everything they’ve got.
CKM CLASSY BAR DRIFTER — “ALIBI”
Old-school breeding. Old-school build. Old-school work ethic.
A mare we’re proud to have in the foundation of our program.

BC SCOOTNPEPPYDRIFTR “SCOOTER”
15 HH • Dark Brown • AQHA Registered • Proven Broodmare • Broke to Ride
Scooter is one of those mares we absolutely love because she brings something that can never be replaced by a pedigree alone:
A REALLY GOOD MIND.
PEDIGREE
SIRE — IKES BLACK DRIFTER
By Ike’s Double Drift
• By Ike’s White Lightning
Out of Kassie Peake
Ike’s Black Drifter brings the Driftwood-type performance influence that is so desirable in a working Quarter Horse.
The Ike’s Double Drift/Ike’s White Lightning side adds a strong foundation of athleticism, speed, bone and usability — qualities that fit perfectly with the kind of horses we’re trying to produce.
This is the kind of bloodline we love because it isn’t just about looking good on paper.
It’s about producing horses that are built to move, built to work and built to last.
DAM — MAJOR SCOOT N PEPPY
By Jae Major Dun
• By Major Holiday
Out of RD Illini Pep Dawn
• By DT Illini King
And Scooter’s maternal pedigree brings in another layer
of performance, cow-horse and working Quarter Horse influence.
The Major and Illini bloodlines complement the Drift influence extremely well, giving Scooter a pedigree with a nice balance of:
Speed • Athleticism • Cow Sense • Trainability • Bone • Versatility
That combination is exactly what we like to see in a broodmare.
WHAT MAKES SCOOTER SPECIAL?
15 HH
Dark brown
Good bone
Great feet
Fantastic mind
“Born broke” type
Broke to ride
Sensible & easy to handle
Proven broodmare
Excellent mother
Produces easy-minded babies
And those feet?
We LOVE GOOD FEET.
Soundness starts at the ground, and having a mare with good feet and solid bone is something we’re happy to have contributing to our breeding program.
Scooter is also a GREAT MOM.
She’s attentive and has done an excellent job raising her babies.
And when you combine:
Good milk + good mothering + good mind + good feet + good bone
…you’ve got the makings of one heck of a broodmare.

DEJA, aka KIMES
And yes… the name is pretty fitting because this mare literally gave me déjà vu!
A few years ago, Deja went through a horse auction but she did not have much info on her paper and was not registered. Fast forward a few years and I came across her again and she was not papered !!!
Pedigree
Sire — High Country Pharlap
by Ebony Starlight
High Country Pharlap is a black AQHA stallion with a pedigree packed with old-school performance influence. His sire, Ebony Starlight, goes back through Skiphop De Doc → Doc Tom Tucker → Doc Bar, while his dam side brings in Thunder Dial Tone and Anchor Thunderbird.
Dam — Diamond Tux Tina
by Jack Two Diamond
And this is where Deja gets some seriously cool foundation breeding.
Jack Two Diamond is a 100% Foundation Quarter Horse and is by Fiddle On Jack, who traces directly to the legendary Two Eyed Jack. His pedigree also includes Little Music, Arthur Howard, Oil Dot Jack and Frosty Cutter — some seriously old-school Quarter Horse blood.
Diamond Tux Tina’s pedigree also brings in Oil Dot Jack, Yellow Jacket Gold and Rapid Drifter, giving Deja a really interesting mixture of foundation, cow-horse and working-type genetics.
Deja is a stunning black and white Paint mare, standing approximately 15.2hh.
She’s got the kind of big, substantial build that we love seeing in a broodmare:
• 15.2hh
• Black & white
• Big-bodied, substantial mare
• Excellent leg and bone
• Athletic build
• Beautiful head and distinctive facial marking
• Foundation influence through Two Eyed Jack
• Performance influence through Doc Bar/Doc Tom Tucker
• Proven broodmare and great mom
And then there’s her personality.
Deja is quirky. When she’s not pregnant, she can be pretty standoffish and very much says, “You may admire me from over there.”
But put a baby in her belly and suddenly…
“HELLO! I WOULD LIKE ATTENTION PLEASE.”
She becomes affectionate and wants all the scratches.
Honestly, that just makes us laugh — and reinforces that broodmare is absolutely the right career for this girl.
Deja may not have become the riding horse we originally hoped she’d be, but sometimes horses have a different plan for us.
And in Deja’s case, that plan is producing beautiful, athletic, substantial babies with a seriously interesting pedigree.
Big mare. Big bone. Big personality. Big pedigree. And apparently… pregnancy comes with a complimentary attitude upgrade.

BEANS, aka DFL Moonshine.
Beans may not be the biggest mare in the herd, standing around 14.3hh, but what she lacks in size, she more than makes up for in pedigree, heart and substance. And that gorgeous liver chestnut coat? She absolutely shines.
Beans had facial injuries as a young filly, she was briefly started under saddle but due to face deformity she didn’t have more than a start. Instead, she spent years happily living as a pasture pet before finding her calling as a broodmare — and she is one fantastic mom. She is attentive, easygoing and absolutely loves her babies.
Pedigree
Sire: DFL Cue Bar Leo
by Doc Freckles Leo
by Freckles Playboy
That is some seriously old-school performance breeding packed into a little mare! Freckles Playboy was a standout cutting sire and his influence is found throughout generations of performance-bred Quarter Horses.
Dam: Moon Glo Jo
by Golden Tiger Moon
out of Pippi Jo Reed
So Beans brings together a really neat combination of Leo/Freckles Playboy cow-horse influence and the Golden Tiger Moon/Pippi Jo Reed side.
What We Love About Beans
• AQHA — DFL Moonshine
• Approximately 14.3hh
• Liver chestnut — and she positively glows in the sun
• Compact, useful size
• Fantastic broodmare
• Proven to be a wonderful, attentive mother
• A pedigree carrying generations of cow-horse and performance influence
Beans is a great example of why we don’t believe every mare needs to be a big, fancy riding horse to have a very important place in a breeding program.
She’s never had the opportunity to show us what she could do under saddle — but she has shown us what kind of mother she can be, and that’s pretty damn special.
Little mare. Big pedigree. Even bigger heart.

TRU BONNIE BLUE — “BRINLEY”
15.2 HH • Black • APHA Registered • Proven Broodmare
Next up is our big, beautiful black mare, Brinley. And this girl has presence!
She’s a 15.2 HH, thick, substantial mare with great bone and the kind of powerful build we absolutely love seeing passed on to her babies.
PEDIGREE
Sire — Truly A Chief
By Positively Grand
Out of Black Gypsy Lady
Dam — Blue Magic Sugar
By Blue Boy’s Revenue (Blueboy Quincy)
Out of Magic Blue Doll
Brinley’s pedigree brings together strong APHA breeding, substance, athletic ability and versatility, with the Positively Grand/Truly A Chief influence on top and Blueboy Quincy and the Magic Blue line underneath.
That foundation influence is something we really value in Brinley. It complements her size and substance and helps explain why she has the kind of bone, body and athletic build we want to see carried forward.
Blue Boy Quincy bloodlines are still being incorporated into modern Paint and Quarter Horse breeding programs specifically for versatility, athleticism, foundation type and good minds.
It’s a pedigree that complements exactly what Brinley herself brings to the table — bone, body, athleticism and a great mind.
Brinley is;
15.2 HH
Big, black & beautiful
Thick & substantial
Excellent bone
Fantastic build
Athletic
Smart
APHA registered
Broke to ride
Unfortunately, an injury ended Brinley’s riding career and made her broodmare sound only.
But honestly?
She’s found one heck of a second career.
Brinley is a fantastic broodmare and has already proven that she can pass along the qualities we love.
THE BRINLEY BABIES
Her foals have presence — just like Mom.
They tend to inherit her:
Bone • Substance • Athleticism • Intelligence
And their personalities are pretty entertaining too.
They may start out a little shy, but give them a month and suddenly you’ve got a baby following you around like:
“Hi. What are we doing? Can I come?”
That willingness to come around, trust people and become genuinely curious is something we absolutely love.
WHY WE LOVE BRINLEY
She’s big, black, thick, athletic and smart, but what really makes her valuable to us is what she puts on the ground.
She stamps her babies.
They have presence.
They have substance.
They have brains.
And once they decide you’re their person…
They’re IN YOUR POCKET.
TRU BONNIE BLUE — “BRINLEY”
Big mare. Big presence. Big babies. And one heck of a broodmare.

CLASSY, aka JUST A TOUCH GOLD
Classy is another mare who is a little outside our usual pedigree choices — but sometimes you meet a horse and realize that the whole package just works. And Classy absolutely does.
She came to us last year specifically as a broodmare. We bred her to Cruiser, and she gave us a beautiful filly. So she has already proven herself in her new career, and we couldn’t be happier to have her in our broodmare band.
The Pedigree
Sire — The Midas Touch Kid
by Classic Style Gold
out of Primetime Plus
And this is a pedigree with some legitimate show-ring credentials.
The Midas Touch Kid was an AQHA cremello stallion, 16.2hh, who was MN & Iowa Quarter Horse Futurity Champion in both Open and Amateur, as well as a Regional Experience Champion. He was also a proven sire of World Champions, Reserve World Champions, Congress Champions and numerous other high-level performers. He was reported HYPP N/N and 5-panel N/N.
His sire, Classic Style Gold, goes back to Kid Clu/Obvious Conclusion and the Rolls Redford line, while his dam, Primetime Plus, brings in Mr Master Fax and Skipper Cookie.
Dam — Just Clu Me In
by Custom Clu
out of Just My Jodie
So Classy has a really interesting combination of halter/show-ring breeding and performance-oriented Quarter Horse blood, with the influence of Kid Clu, Obvious Conclusion, Mr. Master Fax and other proven lines running through her pedigree.
Classy
• AQHA — Just A Touch Gold
• Approximately 15hh
• Beautiful palomino
• Plenty of chrome
• Athletic build
• Sweet, willing temperament
• Easy to handle
• Broke to ride
• Proven broodmare
• Cruiser filly on the ground
• Attentive, first-time mama
And speaking of mama…
Classy is a little bit of a helicopter mom.
This was her first baby, so we will absolutely give her a pass on wanting to know where that baby is at all times.
She’s attentive, protective and very invested in her job — which is exactly what we want from a broodmare.
What I really like about Classy is that she has that pretty, feminine palomino look, but she’s still athletic and useful. She’s not just a pretty face. And while her pedigree isn’t necessarily the direction we traditionally gravitate toward, she is put together just right, and her first foal by Cruiser showed us exactly why we decided to give her a place here.
Sometimes breeding isn’t about checking every box on paper.
Sometimes it’s about looking at the whole horse and seeing the potential.
And Classy is one of those mares.
Pretty. Athletic. Sweet. Golden. And already proving she can make a beautiful baby.

SIGN A WINNER — “IZZY”
15.1 HH • Deep Red with Chrome • AQHA • Proven Broodmare
Izzy stands 15.1 HH and is beautifully put together. She has the bone, feet, hip and shoulder we want in a breeding mare, with an athletic build that makes you look twice. This girl is an absolute athlete wrapped in a gorgeous red package.
PEDIGREE
Sire — MORE SIGNS
By Vital Sign
Out of More Commotion
This is a serious race-bred pedigree.
Vital Sign was an AAA stakes-winning racehorse, earning $291,934, with a Speed Index of 105 and a Race Register of Merit. He won the Heritage Place Futurity and was a major stakes performer.
More Signs carries that Vital Sign speed on top while adding More Commotion, a mare carrying Beduino and Runaway Winner influence — another strong foundation of racing speed and athleticism.
Dam — ANGELS DIAL UP
By Jet N Go
• By Easy Jet
Out of Desperado Miss
And this side of Izzy’s pedigree is just as exciting for us.
Jet N Go brings the legendary Easy Jet line, with Easy Jet being one of the most influential speed sires in Quarter Horse racing. Angels Dial Up’s pedigree also includes Three Bars through St Bar, with St Bar noted as an AQHA World Champion and sire of World Champions.
So Izzy combines Vital Sign, Beduino, Runaway Winner and Easy Jet/Three Bars influence — a pedigree absolutely loaded with speed, athleticism and competitive ability.
IZZY brings the follow traits
15.1 HH
Gorgeous deep red with chrome
Excellent bone
Good feet
Strong hip
Great shoulder
Athletic build
Smart & easygoing
Broke to ride
Proven producer
Fantastic mother
IZZY SCREAMS ATHLETE.
She’s one of those mares where her conformation tells you there is an engine underneath her.
And then there’s her personality…
Izzy is so easy to get along with. She’s pleasant, sensible and just an enjoyable mare to have around.
Izzy is also a great mother, and we love what she puts on the ground.
Her babies tend to carry her athletic build, good bone and wonderful minds — exactly the combination we’re looking for.
That’s what makes a mare valuable to us:
Not just what she looks like, but what she produces.
HER SECOND CAREER
Izzy was broke to ride, but an injury sidelined her riding career earlier than we’d hoped.
Thankfully, she found another job that she’s pretty darn good at:
BEING A MOM.
And we’re pretty happy she did.
SIGN A WINNER — “IZZY”
Race-bred speed. Athletic build. Great mind. Fantastic mother.
An athlete who found her second career in the broodmare pen — and she’s winning at that job too.

FANCY CANADIAN CASH — “SUMMER” / “MOMMA”
15 HH • Dun • Seasoned Broodmare • Proven Producer
Next up is one of our seasoned broodmares and a mare who has earned her nickname around here — Momma.
Meet Fancy Canadian Cash, aka Summer.
15 HH
Beautiful Dun (Dunskin)
Great bone
Good feet
Nice mind
Great personality
Proven broodmare
Experienced mother
Produces substantial foals
PEDIGREE
SIRE — MRH FANCY MONEY
By On The Money Red
Out of Regal Fancy Favorite
And this is where Summer’s pedigree gets REALLY exciting.
On The Money Red was a stakes-winning racehorse, earning $32,358, with a Speed Index of 103 and a record of 6 wins, 4 seconds and 4 thirds from 22 starts.
But his biggest legacy came as a sire.
On The Money Red became one of the most influential sires in the history of barrel racing and was ranked #1 sire of money-earning barrel horses multiple times. His offspring include major performers such as Designer Red, SR Red Ryder, Speed Money and See My Money.
His offspring have accumulated millions in barrel racing earnings, and his reputation has long been for producing horses with speed, intelligence, athleticism and heart.
Summer’s sire, MRH Fancy Money, carried that influence forward himself as a 1D and rodeo money earner, including multiple MBRA Finals qualifications and placings.
DAM — MITOS CANADIAN
By Mitos Perfection
Out of Canadian Effort
Mitos Perfection brings another really nice piece to Summer’s pedigree.
He was an ABRA World Champion Weanling Stallion and had both AQHA halter and performance points. His offspring have earned performance points, won futurities and competed successfully in everything from ranch and rope events to trail and youth horses.
He’s also known for producing horses with good dispositions, trainability and versatility — qualities that fit Summer beautifully.
Summer was originally broke to ride, but she decided that riding wasn’t exactly her calling.
This was back before things like chiropractic care and PEMF were as commonplace as they are today, so she eventually found herself in the broodmare pen.
And when we acquired her, she had already been successfully producing babies for quite some time.
Turns out… she found her career.
Summer is a seasoned broodmare and a fantastic mom.
She’s consistently given us foals with the substance, bone and presence we want to see.
She’s one of those mares who has earned her spot in the program through years of production, not just pedigree.
And with On The Money Red speed and athletic influence combined with the Mitos Perfection versatility and mind, we love the recipe she brings to our breeding program.
FANCY CANADIAN CASH — “SUMMER”
A seasoned mare, a proven producer, and one heck of a Momma.

TEXAS CLASSY FREEDOM — “RHYME”
15.1 HH • Bay & White Tobiano • APHA • Proven Young Broodmare
Texas Classy Freedom, and she’s one of those mares who makes us excited about the future.
Rhyme is a 15.1 HH bay and white tobiano with a beautiful, athletic build and a fantastic mind.
She’s the full sister to Reason, so she carries that same pedigree combination we love so much.
PEDIGREE
SIRE — TEXAS FREEDOM
By Dry Doc Freedom
Out of Texas Cinnamon
Texas Freedom brings Dry Doc performance influence, adding athleticism, versatility and working-horse ability to Rhyme’s pedigree.
The Dry Doc line is especially valued for producing horses with cow sense, athletic ability and the desire to work — qualities that fit beautifully with what we are trying to produce.
DAM — RED SNIFTERS DRIFT
By Red Eddie Drift
Out of Snifters Chick
And here comes that foundation breeding again!
Red Eddie Drift is by Classy Bar Hancock and out of Driftwood Eddie Bell, giving Rhyme strong Hancock, Classy Bar and Driftwood influence.
And just like her sister Reason…
Rhyme is carrying the same foundation blood that runs through our Alibi!
We clearly have a type we love around here.
Dry Doc + Classy Bar Hancock + Driftwood = a combination we are pretty darn happy to have in our broodmare band.
Rhyme brings size, brains, color and athleticism
15.1 HH
Bay & white tobiano
Beautiful build
Athletic
Great mind
Foundation & performance breeding
Proven young broodmare
Fantastic mother
Rhyme had her first foal this year, and even though he didn’t inherit Mom’s Paint color…
WOW, DID HE GET THE GOOD STUFF.
He is striking, confident, friendly and full of personality.
And that confidence is something we absolutely love seeing in a young horse.
Rhyme has already proven herself to be a great mother, and we’re thrilled with what she passed on to her first foal.
He has inherited her:
Build.
Athleticism.
Mind.
Confidence.
And friendliness.
That’s a pretty impressive report card for Baby #1!
And honestly…
If this is what Rhyme does on her first try, we’re pretty excited to see what comes next.
TEXAS CLASSY FREEDOM — “RHYME”
Same great foundation recipe as her sister Reason — but already proving she can put her own stamp on the next generation.

SR JUNO IM PLAYIN — “SUGAR”
15.2 HH • Sorrel • Registered Appendix QH • Barrel Horse • Proven Athlete
.
Sugar is a stunning 15.2 HH sorrel Appendix Quarter Horse with the athletic build, pedigree and competitive background to make us very excited about her future as a broodmare.
And this mare is SMART. Like… almost scary smart.
PEDIGREE
SIRE — MILLIONAIRE PLAYBOY
By Special Effort
Out of Dashs Dream — by Dash For Cash
Now THIS is a pedigree we get excited about.
Special Effort is one of the most influential names in Quarter Horse racing history. He was a World Champion and AQHA Racing Hall of Fame inductee, with $1,219,950 in earnings and an AAA racing record.
And then you see Dash For Cash sitting on the bottom side of Sugar’s sire line through Dashs Dream.
Dash For Cash is one of the legendary names in Quarter Horse racing — a two-time World Champion, AQHA Racing Hall of Fame inductee and sire of countless influential racing and barrel-horse descendants.
That’s some serious speed underneath this mare.
DAM — JUNDANETTE
By Juno Day Cash
• By Dash For Cash
Out of Meritinette
• By Meritable
Once again, Dash For Cash appears.
That gives Sugar a pedigree heavily influenced by some of the most important speed, athleticism and race-bred genetics in the Quarter Horse industry.
THE ATHLETE
Sugar isn’t just bred to run.
SHE DID.
She was a solid barrel horse, beginning her competitive career in Alberta, moving into the Saskatchewan high school rodeo circuit, and eventually coming to Manitoba.
Once she landed here, Lorie competed with Sugar in the MBRA series before Sugar officially retired from the barrel pen and joined the broodmare band.
So we aren’t guessing what this mare can do.
She’s been there.
She’s got the athleticism, competitiveness and experience we want to bring forward.
SUGAR HIGHLIGHTS
15.2 HH
Stunning sorrel
Athletic build
Great legs
Good hip & shoulder
Smart
Sassy
Willing
Barrel racing background
Proven competitor
Registered Appendix QH
And that personality?
SUGAR IS A CHARACTER.
She’s easy to get along with, but she’s smart enough to keep you on your toes.
She’s willing to work with you and genuinely seems to enjoy having a job.
And one of our favourite things?
After you’ve finished riding, she’ll give you that little nicker.
Like: “Good ride. See you tomorrow.”
HER NEXT CHAPTER
Sugar hasn’t had a foal yet.
Unfortunately, she lost her first foal last season after it was born far too early, which was heartbreaking.
We’re hoping 2027 is Sugar’s year.
Because with her race-bred pedigree, barrel background, athletic build, great legs and incredible mind, we are VERY excited to see what she can produce.
SR JUNO IM PLAYIN — “SUGAR”
She came to us as an athlete. Now we’re excited to see what kind of athlete she puts on the ground.

TEXAS DRIFTWOOD BELL — “REASON”
15 HH • Bay & White Tobiano • Young Mare • Foundation/Performance Bred
Reason is a beautiful bay and white tobiano, standing 15 HH. She’s a little more refined than some of our bigger, heavier mares, but she’s only 4 years old, so we’re expecting her to continue to mature, fill out and add more substance with age.
And underneath that pretty Paint coat is a pedigree we really like.
PEDIGREE
SIRE — TEXAS FREEDOM
By Dry Doc Freedom
Out of Texas Cinnamon
Texas Freedom brings some serious working-horse and performance breeding to Reason.
His sire, Dry Doc Freedom, is a son of the legendary Dry Doc, a hugely influential foundation performance sire known for producing athletic, versatile horses with cow sense and working ability.
Texas Freedom himself has been used in breeding programs producing horses suited for ranch work, roping, performance and all-around use.
And we love seeing that Dry Doc influence in Reason because it adds another layer of athleticism and versatility to an already interesting pedigree.
DAM — RED SNIFTERS DRIFT
By Red Eddie Drift
Out of Snifters Chick
And THIS is where we get especially excited.
Red Eddie Drift is the sire of our Alibi!
Red Eddie Drift himself is by Classy Bar Hancock and out of Driftwood Eddie Bell, bringing together strong Hancock, Classy Bar and Driftwood foundation influence.
So yes…
REASON AND ALIBI ARE RELATED !
What can we say?
WE LOVE THAT FOUNDATION BREEDING!
That Classy Bar Hancock/Driftwood influence is exactly the kind of old-school Quarter Horse breeding we love — bone, substance, athleticism, durability and horses built to work.
Reason is
15 HH
Bay & white tobiano
APHA mare
4 years old
Athletic
Nice build
Developing substance
Foundation influence
Young & growing
Reason has not had a foal yet, despite our attempts.
Sometimes Mother Nature has other plans!
So we’re going to give her another chapter.
Reason will be started under saddle soon and will be offered for SALE.
We’ll see what she thinks about her new career — because we have a feeling this girl may have some opinions after all there is Hancock in there
For now, we’re enjoying watching her mature.
She’s got a really interesting combination of Texas Freedom/Dry Doc performance breeding on top and Red Eddie Drift/Classy Bar Hancock/Driftwood foundation influence underneath.
That’s a combination we can definitely get excited about.
TEXAS DRIFTWOOD BELL — “REASON”
Young, athletic, beautifully bred — and carrying a little piece of the same foundation blood we love so much in Alibi.

SAMMI, aka CHIC SAMARAI
She is definitely a little different from our usual girls. Not only is Sammi a Thoroughbred, she is an off-the-track Thoroughbred (OTTB) — and she has quite the resume to prove it.
Sammi enjoyed a successful racing career on the track in both Canada and the United States, earning over $50,000 during her racing days. This girl knows what a job is!
Pedigree
Sire — First Samurai
by Giant’s Causeway
out of Freddie Frisson, by Dixieland Band
First Samurai was a serious racehorse himself, winning 5 of 8 starts and earning $915,075. His résumé includes the G1 Hopeful Stakes and G1 Champagne Stakes, as well as the Fountain of Youth Stakes.
And he wasn’t just successful on the track — he became a notable sire. His offspring include Lea, Justin Phillip, Executiveprivilege, Stacked Deck, Sharp Samurai and Cutting Humor, among other stakes performers.
Dam — Courting Delilah
by Flower Alley
Courting Delilah has also produced successful Thoroughbred runners, including Avanti Leah, who earned $28,450 in 2023 and placed second in the Washington Oaks.
So Sammi brings some pretty serious racehorse genetics to our broodmare band — speed, athleticism, durability and a pedigree full of proven Thoroughbred performers.
Sammi
• Thoroughbred — Chic Samarai
• Off-the-track Thoroughbred
• Successful racing career in Canada & the USA
• $50,000+ career earnings
• Bred from the highly accomplished First Samurai line
• Broke to ride
• Spent a year with Lorie in the barrel arena
• Now beginning her next career as a broodmare
When Sammi came to us, the plan wasn’t necessarily for her to immediately become a broodmare. Lorie rode her in the barrel arena for a year, and we got to see what this Thoroughbred could do outside of the racetrack.
Unfortunately, Sammi injured herself and needed some time off. After giving it some thought, we decided to breed her this spring.
And now…
That belly is growing!
Pregnancy looks great on her, and we are SO excited to see what Sammi thinks about being a mom.
She’s definitely a different addition to our program, but that’s part of what makes her exciting. We love bringing different genetics into the mix, and an athletic, proven racing Thoroughbred mare with this kind of pedigree could be a really interesting cross on our Quarter Horse and Paint stallions.
We can’t wait to meet Sammi’s first baby and see what this OTTB mama passes along.
From racetrack to barrel arena to broodmare — Sammi is just getting started on her next chapter

MACEY, aka PQH SWIFT KID
Pedigree
Sire — Pokeys Dun Kidding
by Docs All Dun Kidding
out of Sabres Scarlet Cash
This is a really interesting combination of cow-horse, reining and running-bred influence. Pokeys Dun Kidding was known for passing along a quiet, trainable mind, and his pedigree combines cutting/reining blood on top with running-bred influence underneath. His ancestors include names such as Doc O’Lena, Top Moon, Three Bars, Top Deck, Seabiscuit and Man O’ War.
That’s a pretty serious collection of old-school performance and racehorse genetics.
Dam — Tornado Babe
by Swift Midnight
out of Crimson Moonshine
The bottom side adds even more of that speed and athletic influence, making Macey an interesting example of an Appendix-type Quarter Horse — a horse that combines Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred blood.
Macey
• PQH Swift Kid
• Appendix Quarter Horse
• Carries Thoroughbred blood
• Dark bay
• Thick, sturdy build
• Excellent bone and substance
• Fantastic mind
• Broke to ride
• Proven broodmare
• Easy to handle
• Fantastic mother
Macey isn’t necessarily the flashy, high-powered mare that screams “look at me!”
She’s the mare that makes you think:
“Yep. That one is going to be useful.”
She’s thick, sturdy and substantial, with an absolutely amazing mind — and that is something we value enormously in our breeding program.
Her pedigree is particularly interesting because of the combination of Doc O’Lena/working cow-horse influence with the running-bred Thoroughbred blood behind her. That can make for a really versatile genetic package when crossed thoughtfully.
And now she’s back where she started — only this time, she’s coming into the Prairie Dream Ranch broodmare band with a few more years and some motherhood experience under her belt.
We’re pretty excited to have this thick, dark bay, big-minded girl back home and see what she produces for us.
Good bone. Good mind. Good mare. And apparently… good at finding her way back home.

TALLY, aka SOLANOS GOLD BELLE.
Tally is one of those mares that catches your eye immediately. She is a dark, rich palomino with a beautiful flaxen mane, standing approximately 14.3hh. And she is built like we like them — thick, substantial and that classic “bulldog” type.
She has plenty of bone, a strong body and an athletic build packed into a smaller, extremely useful frame.
Pedigree
Sire — Solanos Peppy Fritz
by Solanos Peppy San
by Peppy San Badger
That brings some serious cow-horse and working Quarter Horse heritage to Tally’s pedigree. Peppy San Badger is one of the most influential names in cutting and working cow-horse breeding, and his blood is highly sought after for producing athletic, cowy, usable horses.

by Tally Man
Tally The Gold’s pedigree traces back to Tally Man, who carries Scotto Dee Bar/Doc Bar and Orphan Drift breeding.
So Tally brings together a really neat combination of Peppy San Badger cow-horse blood on top with Tally Man/Doc Bar and Orphan Drift influence underneath.
Tally
• AQHA — Solanos Gold Belle
• Approximately 14.3hh
• Dark palomino
• Gorgeous flaxen mane
• Thick, substantial “bulldog” build
• Excellent bone
• Athletic and powerful
• Broke to ride
• Proven broodmare
• Fantastic, easygoing mother
• Easy to handle and get along with
Tally is one of those mares that just makes you stop and look at her. She’s pretty without being delicate, and built with the kind of substance we love seeing in our broodmares.
And while she is broke to ride, she has spent her time with us doing what she does best — being a mama.
She’s an easy mare to have around, has a wonderful disposition and has proven herself to be a great mom.
And honestly, when you put that dark gold color, heavy bone, athletic build and cow-bred pedigree together, Tally is exactly the kind of mare we love having in the Prairie Dream Ranch broodmare band.
Small package. Big build. Golden color. Serious pedigree. What more could you ask for ?
